About Functional Objects

Through the functional works, the sculptural universe enters the spaces we inhabit. Light, movement and use become part of each work’s presence.

A lighting sculpture changes the atmosphere of a room. An automaton introduces a character and its gestures. A mechanism becomes the centre of a construction whose details reveal themselves gradually. The object takes its place in daily life while retaining something unexpected.

These projects develop a relationship with a space, its scale and the people who move through it. They also unfold over time, through repeated use, changing light or a detail noticed only after several encounters.

Each work finds its own balance between imagination, construction and function.
