I create artefacts from an imaginary civilization: masks, armours, figures and machines that seem to carry the memory of a world that never existed.
NewWorldDisorder imagines what might rise from the remnants of our century. Its figures inhabit a world of warlords, ritual and power. NohWorldOrder draws on Japanese Noh theatre and worldwide folklore. SpeedDevils gives form to imagined vehicles and their skeletal crews.
Found objects and discarded materials are the starting point. Their shapes, wear and previous lives remain part of each sculpture. Transformation is both the method and the story.
Every work is a unique piece, made by hand in Switzerland.
Background
Georges Ayusawa is a Swiss sculptor. After more than twenty years as an art director in film, television and advertising, he developed an independent sculpture practice.
